Electronics & Firmware R&D Engineer

To support the growth of our in-house audio-visual brands, we are looking for an R&D engineer, specialising in electronics and firmware. The job is located in Willebroek. This is a full-time position.

Tasks and responsibilities
• Design electronic circuits for digital and power applications (micro controller boards, LED drivers, motor drivers, DMX receivers)
• Draw schematics and lay out PCB’s in Altium Designer and/or KiCAD
• Follow-up production of PCB’s, communicate with suppliers and manufacturers
• Investigate issues with existing hardware and propose improvements
• Test third-party firmware
• Write firmware in C for STM32
• Source electronic components
• Provide support to quality control and certification departments

Skills
• Proven experience in designing, prototyping and debugging electronic circuits
• Ability to use lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyser, digital multimeter, soldering station...)
• Experience in writing low-level, bare-metal firmware/software, mostly in C on the STM32 platform
• Practical knowledge of electro-magnetic compatibility (EMC) and its common remediation techniques
• Basic skills in 3D drawings/3D printing are a plus (SolidWorks, Fusion 360...)
• Fluent in Dutch or English
